Honestly it’s ok. Now that I’m in my thirties I can appreciate that there’s a time for manual and a time for automatic. Manual is more fun when you’re canyon carving, but it all depends on what you’re mainly going to use the car for.

Gotcha. I’m an mr2 fan as well, and while I would prefer a manual, I absolutely would not rule out an automatic.

then get another car. I tried to buy 2 MR2s and both deals fell through on shitty examples that were $8000. I imported a car form japan for $1000 less. Get like a Toyota Chaser or Silvia or something. Or maybe a JDM MR2.

Definitely look for one farther away. I don’t necessarily suggest doing this, but I bought my 88 SC on ebay one state over. My dad gave me a ride there, and I drove the car 3-ish hours home.
